Introduction

Creating a wallet establishes its first authority and the permissions that authority can use.
  • Use when: your application needs an active wallet that can receive assets and execute transactions.
  • For: app developers onboarding a user or provisioning an application wallet.

How it works

  1. Choose the owner and a funded Solana fee payer.
  2. Generate a wallet ID and build the creation instruction.
  3. Submit the transaction and wait for confirmation.
  4. Fetch the wallet to obtain its asset address and current roles.

SDK example

This example uses one Ed25519 keypair as owner and payer. The owner receives All permission; the payer funds account creation and fees. Supply your RPC Connection and application-owned signer after installing the SDK.
  • Store both returned addresses; use the wallet address for deposits.
  • Use another authority constructor for passkey, Ethereum, or program approval.
  • For a browser signer, use its wallet adapter as described in Sending transactions.
  • Give application signers narrower access with Add a role.
